France’s largest wine producer, the Val d’Orbieu group has more than 17,000 hectares of vines in the Languedoc Roussillon (South of France) and specializes in high quality rosé wines.
Taking advantage of the region’s excellent harvests in recent years, Val d’Orbieu’s wine producers have launched a new range of premium rosés from the group’s domaines and châteaux, with Domaine Sainte Croix cuvée Montlaurès and Château Ribuate cuvée Senhal d’Aric (Corbières AOP), and Château de Jonquières (Languedoc AOP). The grapes used to make these wines are sourced by plot selection and vinified to create pale, aromatic rosés that appeal to modern tastes. To enhance their positioning, the rosés are presented in elegantly shaped curved bottles. The well-known Total Wine chain has already succumbed to the charms of Domaine Sainte Croix cuvée Montlaurès, which will be available in all of its stores from next spring. Rosé consumption is increasing in the United States and is being celebrated with “La Nuit en Rosé (Rosé
Nights)”, the first Food & Wine festival in the world dedicated to rosés. Val d’Orbieu will be present at the various evenings, that will bring together rosé producers, rosé fans, chefs and restaurants.
The first 2015 event will take place in Miami Beach from 30 January to 1 February; then in Los Angeles on 20 June and New York from 25 to 27 June. The perfect opportunity to discover the charms of Val d’Orbieu’s Languedoc rosés (www.nuitrose.com)
