Since January 2019, a "wind of union" blew over the light soils and clay-limestone terraces of western Aude.

Two cooperatives, the Cave du Razès in the commune of Routier, created in 1947, and the Cave la Malepère founded in Arzens in 1949, joined forces to form a single entity under the name of  Les Vignobles de Vendéole.

Neologism composed of the words «Vent» and «Éole», the name Vendéole refers to the Languedoc wine-growing region, which is subject to two climatic influences: the Mediterranean climate in the east and the oceanic climate in the west.
